At Hotel Hehrne, nature is more than just a backdrop. It is the rhythm we follow. The park, the river, and the landscape surrounding Restad Gård set the tone for how we think, cook, welcome guests, and develop the place. We are at the beginning of our journey, but the direction is clear: to grow gently, with consideration for the environment, people, and the future.

Our sustainability philosophy

Sustainability is part of our everyday life, not a side issue. It is about conscious choices, long-term thinking, and respect for the whole. We want to be a place where experiences and responsibility coexist naturally, where quality and consideration go hand in hand. Our work is supported by the UN's global goals and Inner Development Goals, frameworks that help us to combine structure, human values, and development over time. Sustainable food with care

The food at Hehrne is created with respect for both taste and the environment. We work seasonally, choosing local and organic ingredients whenever possible and using MSC and ASC certified fish. Through careful planning, we reduce food waste and let the ingredients speak for themselves. For us, a meal should be enjoyable, well thought out, and a responsible choice.

Collaborations in the local area

We are part of a larger context. Through collaborations with local producers and suppliers, we strengthen the community, reduce transport distances, and contribute to a vibrant local society. This benefits both the location and the experience for our guests.

Waste, resources, and disposable items

We work continuously to reduce waste and use resources more wisely. Sorting and recycling are a natural part of everyday life, and disposable items are phased out wherever possible. Quality and sustainable alternatives guide our choices.

Cleaning and chemicals with care

To create a safe environment for guests, employees, and nature, we choose eco-labeled cleaning products as far as possible and strive to minimize the use of chemicals throughout our operations.
