At Hotel Hehrne, sustainability is a natural part of everything we do. We strive to be a sustainable hotel where care for the environment, the guest, and the future go hand in hand. Our environmental work permeates the entire operation – from energy-efficient solutions and reduced food waste to carefully selected local and organic ingredients.
We choose MSC and ASC-labeled fish, prioritize locally produced goods, and constantly work to reduce our impact on the nature around the Gota River. With us, you can enjoy good food and wonderful moments – with a clear conscience.
Organic choices in food and drinks
At Hotel Hehrne, sustainable food and local ingredients are in focus. Our chefs prepare dishes with seasonal ingredients from sustainable producers – always with as much Swedish and locally produced food as possible. During the season, we also pick fresh vegetables directly from Restad Gård, just a stone's throw from the hotel.
We want to offer food that both tastes good and does good. Therefore, we invest in organic and healthy options, carefully planned menus and active work to reduce food waste. With us, every meal is a conscious choice – for both the guest and the environment.
Recycling and waste management
Recycling is a natural part of our environmental work. We work actively to reduce the amount of waste and ensure that resources are used in the best way. Through carefully designed routines and a comprehensive recycling program, we ensure that as much as possible is recycled and reused – from the kitchen and restaurant to hotel rooms and offices.
Our goal is to run a sustainable hotel where care for the environment permeates every step, and where small everyday choices contribute to a bigger difference.

Our employees play a central role in the environmental work and receive continuous training in sustainable and environmentally friendly working methods.
